This paper systematically analyzes the research progress and practical pathways of major carbon capture and utilization (CCUS) technologies in the cement industry. Based on global case studies, it highlights a comparative analysis of the technical characteristics of mainstream carbon capture methods, including amine absorption, calcium looping, and indirect thermal decomposition. In the carbon utilization phase, low-carbon aggregates demonstrate advantages in synergistic waste treatment, while the synthesis of high-value chemicals from CO2 requires breakthroughs in conversion efficiency. China Resources Building Materials Technology Holdings Limited has established a 100 000 t carbon utilization R&D platform, focusing on advancing CCUS technology development, demonstration, and industrial application in the cement industry through carbon in-situ enrichment and high carbon-sequestration materials. Looking ahead, carbon capture and utilization in the cement sector should integrate process optimization and policy support to drive industrialization, while strengthening carbon market mechanisms to provide systematic solutions for achieving carbon neutrality in the cement industry. |
